Tom Clurey is a 193cm key position player from the Murray Bushrangers in the Victorian TAC Cup. Tom represented Vic Country in the 2012 national championships and is an elite endurance athlete with excellent skills. He was pick 29 at the 2012 National draft.
Tom made his AFL debut in the first round of the 2014 season and added to that during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In 2017 he really broke through, playing every game as a key defender, impressing everyone with his concentration and calmness when up against the AFL’s best forwards. A solid season in 2018, including a top 10 best and fairest finish, led to Tom signing a 4 year contract extension.
Tom had a great year again in 2019, finishing 5th in Port’s Best and Fairest count, and is now one of the most dependable key defenders in the AFL. Unfortunate injuries to Tom in 2021 and 2022 restricted the number of games he has played, but Port have shown great faith in him, by Contracting him through till the end of the 2025 season.
